Is the Saturday Vigil Mass valid?

A friend of mine and I had a discussion about the validity of Mass on Saturday. She says that I have not fulfilled my Sunday obligation by going to church on Saturday and should go to Confession. She said the only time it’s valid is if the Consecration takes place after 12:00 am, ie: a midnight Mass. How do I respond to this?
