I was wondering, is the Summa Theologica, St. Thomas Aquinas’ works infallible? or have they ever been deemed infallible?

I’m sorry if this is a repeat question. Please and thank you for answering.

Dear A,

The work of theology is to help us understand the dogmas of our faith. Ordinarily statements of theology are not dogmas themselves. There are exceptions to this. St. Thomas’s theological doctrine of “transubstantiation” has been made of dogma of the Church. It is a way of understanding the Eucharist that Catholics are obliged to hold.

As great a work as his Summa Theological is, it comments on dogmas; it is not a dogma itself and is not infallible.
