Is there a Church doctrine on yoga?

I just started my 12 year old daughter in a Catholic School, and since September they have had two assembly programs on yoga. They even sent home “metta prayer”. I find this very strange & upsetting since I thought yoga was based on another religion( Hinduism ??). Does anyone have any official doctrine or teachings from the R.C. Church that states their position on yoga.
