Not to my knowledge. The German “Heide” can be translated as either, and I think they are the result of different etymological paths toward describing the same phenomenon.
On a practical level, in modern neo-paganism, those who follow reconstructionist-type religions of the Norse/Germanic type call themselves “heathen” to differentiate between the airy-fairy Starhawk/Silver Ravenwolf people who call themselves “pagan.”
