Is there a next best thing to Retrouvaille?

Hubby and I should have attended a Retrouvaille weekend before Lily was born… and then the last 2 years have been total chaos with all of the sensory and sleep problems she has… and now he is away for 8 months. We are not on the brink of divorce but we could definitely use some help and direction to overcome some recurring problems… so, since it looks like Retrouvaille won’t be happening anytime soon, is there a next best thing?

I don’t know too much about it anymore, but my parents went to a “Marriage Encounter” weekend 25-30 years ago. Like you, they were not on the brink of divorce, but they also had some recurring issues (my father’s drinking, for one.) It seemed to help them with communication–and being more respectful of each other’s viewpoint. They practiced a technique called “dialog.” All sounds very 1970s now, but you may want to look into it. My father died twenty years ago. Their last few years were very loving and close.
