Is there a reason Mary would visit a non-Catholic?

I have a friend who is a new-agey, non-denom Christian, if that makes sense. She says she has the gift of discerning spirits, and claims that Jesus and Mary visit her regularly. I’m wondering - IF what my friend says is true - why the Blessed Mother would visit her, if it’s not an apparent attempt to convert her to Catholicism?

While it is not for me to limit to who the Blessed Mother would appear or for what reason, I can say that any such apparition/message would be perfectly compatible with Catholicism. The Blessed Mother would not appear to someone or give a message which would be contrary to the faith.
If the message from Mary is contrary to the faith we can be certain that it is most likely a product of the individual’s own imagination/mental state.
