I’m a Protestant convert, and one of things it really bugs me-I should say, hurts me-is when a saint is being dishonored by Protestants.
For example, I have just bumped into an article (for those who can read Chinese, it’s here [Augustine and the Worship of Saints](https://www.boxun.com/news/gb/pubvp/2014/09/201409100531.shtml, like “worship”, no we don’t WORSHIP them!), by the end of the article the author basically concluded that St. Augustine’s advocacy for the “worship of saints” must have been intended for reasons other than a sincere and Christian belief that they are good for the souls of the believers, such as a desire to enrich his own wealth. And for this reason, he had never really become a Christian but remained a “hopeless Manichee”, which is “his true essence”.
Now I’m not going to ask how am I going to write my rebuttal, words are meaningless to those stubborn minds, only prayers would work. But it pains my heart to think that these people, who during their life on earth have suffered rejection and misunderstanding for Christ’s sake, would still be ridiculed and attacked, not only by the secular academia and media, but also by their own brothers and sisters in Christ! I know that there are prayers for the reparation of the Sacred Heart, is there any reparation I can do for these saints, through whom God has blessed us?
They have done so much for me, if I can do something to give them a bit comfort (though I know they are in perfect bliss in heaven), that would be really nice. Pax!
