Is there forgiveness after abortion?

If you have committed a mortal sin of abortion, have prayed for forgiveness but yet still have to go to confession, can you be acepted back into the Catholic faith? I have heard from some Catholics that you can not, but yet others say that you can.
 
Yes, of course one can receive sacramental forgiveness for abortion and then become a Catholic in good standing again. One need only go to confession.
