Venial sins do not cut us off from God, but it damages our relationship with Him and upsets Him. Then I wonder, could there possibly be venial sins commited with full knowledge and full consent? If you truly know that what you’re doing is a venial sin, you know that this act would hurt God and you still go with it. Doesn’t that constitute grave matter: that is, not loving God above all things? Therefore, is it even possible, that venial sins remain venial even commited with full knowledge and full consent?

P.S. You may want to take into consideration that I’m scrupulous.

IMO “sin” is actually a mistake. I sinned because I was stupid, not because I was bad. God cannot hold stupidity against me. It’s the way he made me. And I’ve made lots of mistakes. The older I get and the more I learn the fewer mistakes I make. Someday, if I grow old enough and become wise enough, I won’t sin at all anymore.

And please, spare me the judgemental stuff. I was raised in the RCC from birth until about the age of 18,(when I left), so I’m well aware of catholic teaching about sin.
