An associate pastor at our church refuses to place the Eucharist host on the tongue.
One of the parish Lay Eucharist Ministers (whom I will refer to as LEM#1) refuses to receive the Eucharist host in the hand, but will sip from the chalice while assisting at Mass. .
LEM#1 has arranged with LEM#2 to be given the consecrated host on the tongue after Mass. Both go the tabernacle where the consecrated host is removed by the LEM#2 and administered to LEM#1 kneeling nearby.
The associate priest and deacon have observed this practice on several occasions, and have said nothing. They appear to ignore the obvious.
What is the Catholic Church teaching on this practice?
