Is this a revocation of the veneration of Mary?

Luke 11:27 As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, “Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.” 28 He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.”

Is this an example of where Jesus would reject the veneration of Mary or simply that obedience to God’s word is more important than the blessing of the Holy Mother?

Hi David,

Jesus would never reject veneration to His mother. Note that He doesn’t deny what the woman said about Mary being happy (or gifted) over giving birth to such a son. He simply states that one is happier (or more gifted) still, who is faithful to the word of God.
