Is this a valid reason to miss Mass?

Here is my situation. I signed up to go to the Florida Everglades for a week for a class during J-term(classes that last 3 weeks). My problem is that I am going to miss Mass. Is this a valid reason to miss mass? I could take another J-term class so I don’t miss Mass. The professor teaching the class told me that it would be logistically hard to get me to mass on Sunday.

I go to a private protestant evangelical school. That Catholic priest in that town told me that it was a valid reason to miss Mass but both the priests at my home perish told me is wasn’t. Please help Me!

Hi Nathan,

If you can’t take the class at any other time and you need to take the class, then it’s ok to miss Mass. But if you CAN take the class at another time and still go to Mass–what’s the problem?
