I just bought a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary and a religious brother of an order placed his hands over the statue and blessed it. However he did not crossed the statue like a priest use to. Is this consider a blessing??

Or can I bring over the statue to a priest to bless it again?

It is probably blessed but you can always have it reblessed by a priest or a deacon. There is no problem with doing that to ease your conscience. All sacramentals are not magic potions with curative powers just because they are blessed. That would be heretical to say that. However, sacramentals are used to draw us closer to our faith and bring us to pray. newadvent.org/cathen/13292d.htm This will give you a better definition on the use and kinds of sacramentals that we as Catholics incorporate in our daily walk of faith. Peace to you
