Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I thought it was my best bet for an answer.

I’m decorating the wall outside my dorm room for advent. I want to use the words from “Veni Veni” because its my favorite christmas chant, but i want to change them a little, and was wondering if my Latin was correct.

So, is it correct Latin to say:

“Gaude! Emmanuel nascetur pro nobis”

for:

“Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come for us”

how would one say “has come to us” instead?

thank you. it is much appreciated.

i looked into the latin vocanb a bit, which i probably should have done before. Am i right in thinking that the traditional latin lyrics “nascetur pro te” actually mean something along the line sof “shall be born to thee” instead of the english translation, which is “shall come to thee”?

Again, thanks for the help.

That’s exactly correct; nascetur = shall be born.
