Is this immoral?

My husband was going out to buy fast food for ourselves and his parents. While looking over his coupons deciding what to buy, he mentioned he’s only allowed to use one coupon. I told him I could go with him and make a separate order so we could use two coupons. He felt it’s somehow dishonest or cheating to do that. I didn’t think it was. If the food is for several people, I don’t see how making two orders is dishonest. He’s not scrupulous, but he is extremely kind and honest, and never wants to take something that he doesn’t have a right to.

So who’s right?
 
You could ask at the store if such is permitted …or the company who does the coupons…(they will prob send you more coupons…)

Some things are one to a family…others are more broad.
 
I’m sorry, but this IS a scrupulous question.

If it states one coupon per purchase then that is what it means. If you make multiple purchases you are entitled to use multiple coupons. You do not even need to go with him. He can make both purchases himself and use one coupon per purchase. I do that frequently, and the establishment has no issue with it.

Also, sometimes the coupon will be one per visit, but you can use it for multiple discounts. For example, buy one get one… sometimes you can use it for up to 4 or 6 meals. So, you buy two and get two free.

It totally depends upon the store’s coupon policy and wording.

Just ask them.
 
I’d say it was fine.

One per person: You each only used one.
One per customer: You both were separate customers.
One per family: You used one to buy food for your family and the other to buy for your parents.

The same idea applies here. You are fine to make separate purchases and use multiple coupons.

If it makes any difference, I just read the coupons. They say, “One coupon per order. One coupon per customer per visit.”

You and your husband are separate customers. Just because you normally order your food and pay for it together (for convenience) doesn’t change the fact that you both are separate customers.
