Dear All,
My current job is with an international payment processing company. The company helps a lot of other companies to move money around. Most customers are OK from the moral point of view. However my corporation also works with sex shops. These businesses usually pay for the suppliers of their immoral merchandise in China. As I understand the business nature of sex shops is incompatible with Catholic worldview. My function is to overview active accounts of customers and if no suspicious and fraudulent activity is found, we continue the business relationship with the customer.
Thus few things bother me in this case:
Am I materially cooperating in this evil machinery and what sort of material cooperation is this and whether it is permissible.
Thank you for your thoughts and God bless.

Most of the materials sold in these shops can be used in a licit fashion by married couples (like lube, for instance, for older couples). Would you refuse to process payments for CVS Pharmacy because they happen to sell condoms as well as cough syrup?

Not sure. But in my case there are companies who sell only sex dolls.

Well, there’s no licit use for them, that’s for sure. However providing infrastructure services for such a company is not the same as materially helping them in the production and sale of sex dolls. For example, what about the electric utility that supplies power to their production facility? They are arguably more directly responsible for their production than someone who just processes their payments. I don’t think an electrician who was assigned the job of connecting their service would necessarily be guilty of material cooperation with evil.

People keep trying to use them on I-5 to allow access to the car pool lane. Often it works.
