My sister is 10. She and i were raised in a protestant home. Now that i will be baptized soon she is interested. She asks lots of questions. We watch Catholic movies alll the time. We also watch Mass. She loves it. I dont push too hard though at all. My mom is very happy that my sister wants to learn and we both hope she will one day convert, but ofcourse i just answer her questions and waych ewtn with her. Now my question is: my sister has a great fascination with nuns. Haha. So i helped her make nun outfits for her doll. And we too make her happy i will sit in the floor and play it with her ( it makes her day!) And also she like for us too play nuns too. And we pretend to be carmelites. Like she puts a pretend habit on her head with her bathrobe (its adorable really) and just things like that. There is nothing morally or sinful about this at all is there? Im scrupulous sorry! Soooo scrupulous! Is there any limits to this. Part of why she likes this is becuz she is in love with st therese

Doesn’t sound like anything wrong to me! In fact, it’s great that you are teaching your sister to view nuns as rolemodels. 🙂

Of course not. There’s nothing wrong with this…actually …very healthy. She sees something special and she’s interested.

I remember when I was young, I played a priest a lot. I used talcum powder as incense and I had a little private mass in my room.

It’s a child pretending …and maybe seeing something special in something holy. If you ask lots of women you’ll probably find they did something similar (I know my mom and my wife did the same) and I hear lots of my friends that went to be a nun or priest did as well.

God bless and don’t worry…it’s cute and may aid her mind and heart into coming to a new understanding.

That is so AWESOME! My girls do this as well (they are a bit younger than your sister…5 and 7) and it is such a joy to watch them “be nuns”. 🙂

That is adorable! Not sinful at all, you aren’t mocking, you are teaching her to admire the women.

I will pray for her conversion!

Once for Halloween, my mom was so angry at my dad for getting me a witch costume that she hand-made me a carmelite nun habit so that I could go to Halloween at my secular school as a nun. lol.
No, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with good religious roleplay from passion plays to nativity scenes to dressing up barbies as nuns. All are still pointing to God.
Now if you or your sister were using the dolls to mock the church or religious, I think that would be a different story.

Be at peace. 🙂

Thank you all! I just wantdd to make sure! 🙂 we just got finished watching the movie Therese
