Hi, a friend of mine occasionally goes to the Jewish services. He’s Catholic, however his “bloodline” is Jewish. A priest also told him that it’s ok to participate in those services and to pray the Talmudic prayers. Is this ok? I know Catholics aren’t allowed to participate in Orthodox or protestant services, but what about Jewish services?

‘Participate’ means mainly that you can’t receive the sacraments (including the Eucharist) or make any profession of faith other than the Catholic (so praying the Apostles’ Creed, for example, is fine, making the Islamic profession of faith isn’t).

Merely saying prayers should be fine.
