Is it allowed to ask members in a thread for doctor recommendations in a specific health field for a particular geographic location?

(The written rules seemed to be slightly ambiguous on this point in my reading of them.)

Oh, good clarification! If the question is about the physician’s or psychologist or therapist’s (et cetera) stated ethics and not about medical care, we can ask and answer about that.
