I have a picture of Jesus and I wanted to arrange it by applying the same reasoning I use when I arrange a normal picture. But could that be bad because I’m treating a picture of Jesus as I treat any other picture?

Is it okay to do so?

I don’t understand the question. What other logic would you use to decide how and where to hang any picture?

It’s a picture. Put it where you would like it. Thinking it’s some sort of divine object would concern me, as that would be close to idoltary in my opinion.

Remember it’s just a picture… it’s really not Jesus.

Although you should place the picture where you will see it and think of Jesus every time you see it… like a statue, or a Bible, or a rosary… they are “things”. We use these to help us… think of and visualize and contemplate Jesus and God and Mary and the Saints and etc…

Like getting a card in the mail with a picture of Jesus or Mary or another saint… do you have to keep it because it has a picture on it. No. But you could give it to maybe a church that has a day care or religious education program for them to use.

Place the picture where you will see it and think of Jesus as you pass or where you will sit and pray. But really don’t worry that Jesus will get mad at you for placing a picture somewhere like as if you were placing “Uncle Fred” 😉

A picture is a picture. And a picture usually reminds us of someone we
care about. Jesus I’m sure would be flattered and honored.

Greetings Fakename,

No it is not a sacrilege. Place it where you wish and arrange it however you wish, as long as it’s in a respectul place.

God bless.
