He suffers less in Purgatory who has suffered much on earth.

Quaere Verum:
He suffers less in Purgatory who has suffered much on earth.
It certainly can be true. All suffering can be offered up in atonement for our sins. Those who make a constant practice of “offering up” can live out much (if not all) of their purgatory on earth.

If you love the Lord and follow him, you will not suffer.
Jesus says pick up your cross and follow me. Can we not expect suffering? St. Paul says that he counts his suffering a joy. He loves the Lord, doesn’t he?

My thoughts too. We do all suffer, the difference is what we do with the suffering.

I was taught as well that all the prayers, masses, sufferings etc that we go through while on earth are, if offered up, much more effective than anything we or anyone else can do after we die.
