Is this wine consecrated?

A friend asked me to post this: During the Consecration, if the bottles of wine and water are left on the altar and still are partially full, are they consecrated along with the wine in the chalice?

Usually, the glass bottles holding the wine and water are removed to the side table before the consecration, but a few times, they have been left on the altar. How should this wine (and water) then be treated?
 
I would think that there couldn’t be any such thing as “accidental” or inadvertant consecration. If the priest doesn’t intend to consecrate the wine in those bottles, then it isn’t consecrated.

Those hosts and that wine that the priestly celebrant wishes to consecrate is that which is consecrated. That said, it would be terribly sloppy to leave the cruets on the altar during the EP.

Thank you ! We were wondering what those *Bottles * were called! I think the fact that they sometimes get left on the altar may have someting to do with poorly trained altar servers

IF the priest intends to also consecrate the wine in the bottles then it is the Blood of Christ. I highly doubt that he specifically intended to do so and so should be placed in the refrigerator and not used at Communion. You would need to ask him.

There would be no need to place the cruet of wine in a refrigerator. Just off the altar would suffice.
