Do Thursday evenings count as Fridays? I’m a bit confused by this. Because Saturday evenings count as Sunday. Could anyone enlighten me? Thanks in advance. God bless!

Yeah, it is a bit confusing. But I read through it pretty quick.
So for example you attend a Vigil Mass the evening before a Holy Day of Obligation, is your Obligation fulfilled?
Also aren’t all Sunday’s Holy Days Of Obligation?

Also another question I’ve got, is abstinence required on Thursday Evening? That was the main intention of this thread. Thanks in advance!

Oh, okay. Thanks a bunch! I just figured it would/might be because Saturday Evening Mass counts as Sunday mass, so I just figured that was all across the board. But y’all cleared that up for me, so thanks and God Bless!

It has nothing to do with the evening “turning into” the next day; it has everything to do with Canon Law saying that you can fulfill your obligation to attend Mass on a Holy Day of Obligation (and yes, that includes all Sundays) by attending any Mass the evening before.

Any other details are irrelevant and no other rules apply.
