Is torturing involving a sadist and a masochist sinful?

It is sinful because it is disordered sexual behaviour.

Put it another way…do you think its okay for a person to help another commit suicide, cause they said its okay to kill them?

both are sinning, because both actions are disordered. i would say that their responsibility for their sins is questionable, as both are in states of psychological disorder that renders them only partially responsible for their actions.

it’s similar to an addiction. an addict is only so responsible for his actions. becoming an addict is one thing, responding to an addiction is different.

sadists and masochists are in need of psychological healing, which God, through counseling, and through the eucharist, can and will provide.
 
Leah Mommy of 2yeah I started some sex related topic here. but do they contain any harmful info? if they do, I apologize. if not, we’d better get clear of these problems. simply shun from these doesn’t help. most of the most “hidden” mortal sins are sex related. blasphemies and thefts are mortal sins. and they don’t need discussing. but not everyone knows perverted sexual behaviors are sinful. I didn’t know they are before joining these forum and now I’m glad I know the trueth.
I’m not a paraphiliac. I even don’t want to marry as I’m still trying to be a priest.

I have no problem with you blocking my posts. but I’m interested why. It’s not a mortal sin if you don’t know it is. when you don’t want to know if something are mortal sins, you already have in mind that they’re mortal sins. you just don’t want others to confirm it. and my posts in other sub-forums have nothing to do with sex.

no. I don’t know if there’s any of my friends is a sadist or masochist. if it’s related to me or my friends I’ll definately tell you. this question is just out of curiosity after reading the joke quoted by Church Militant

rwoehmke you can say if you’re dating your gf, you’re definately NOT trying to become a priest. “trying” also means I haven’t contacted any diocese yet.

For some the issue of the THEOLGY OF THE BODY and human sexulaity is still a tabu topic never to be discussed. This is NOT the CATHOLIC VIEW.

So, you accept the position that Catholics are obligated to form their consciences properly. Any Catholic should know such things are gravely sinful.
 
We may not do evil, even if the out come is good.

So even in the case of a terrorist, we could not torture him/her to find out where they placed a bomb that is going to kill hundreds/thousands/even millions.

Here is the paragraph from the Catechism.

**1789 **Some rules apply in every case:
  • One may never do evil so that good may result from it;
  • the Golden Rule: “Whatever you wish that men would do to you, do so to them.”
  • charity always proceeds by way of respect for one’s neighbor and his conscience: “Thus sinning against your brethren and wounding their conscience . . . you sin against Christ.” Therefore “it is right not to . . . do anything that makes your brother stumble.”
I think that says it all and is very clear.

This term is not contained in my Oxford American dictionary–sounds like some new invention from that oh-so-enlightened group engaged in new age spirituality/counseling.

Beyond that…just curious…of what consequence is the answer if you have no intention of getting married, claim you are interested in the priesthood and thus presumably not engaging in any, much less the most deranged, sexual practices?!
