The ‘traditionalists’ are more and more prevalent in media and in real life.
I am hearing that communion in hand is sacrilege, that giving peace is disrespect to Jesus on the altar etc…

It’s very subtle, because it sounds all super Catholic, but actually, in my opinion, it’s not. People think that they are revering Christ, but actually they are disrespect Holy Mother Church, making other people doubt in todays Church, which has got and authority from Christ himself to teach us, so in that line they are actually disrespect the Christ himself instead of revering. At least when they look down upon people who take communion in hand or give peace. That’s not ok and certainly not love of neighbor, but spiritual pride.

Makes me think, is traditionalism attack from the devil trying to disturb peace in Holy Catholic Church.

In the words of my favorite protestant, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the First, “I would not peer into men’s souls.”

Very well put. These are the thoughts I have been having as well.

I would suggest that you look deeper into what is actually being said and not merely focus on your own perception of what is being said.

I can’t speak to what specific examples you’ve given to support your views, since you’ve merely generalized your outlook on the situation, but the aim isn’t to attack the individual.

Many people have serious concerns regarding the current state of our Church and their focus isn’t on bashing or attacking people, but they are longing for a return to Traditional teachings and to recapture that reverence and piety, which many feel has been lost.

Yes it might well be spiritual pride, and that itself may be some kind of diabolic fruit.

However to claim that the traditional expression of Catholic religion is a diabolical plot seems a little over the top. I mean, think about what that implies about all those Catholics, and the Church itself who predated Vatican II.

I believe that. It is reverent, but on the other hand, God calls everybody and if somebody is “touching the water” by receiving communion in hand, just like the woman who gave two coins, doens’t mean that their reverence is any less than people who kneel. In time they might start to kneel too, but they need time and support. Not saying that they are not reverent enought. But that’s more spiritual question…

What I have heard is man saying that receiving communion in hand is SACRILEGE!
That’s just plainly WRONG, and has many implications that the person saying that might not even be aware what is he saying and doing. Just like when devils work.

Many traditionalists see people frequently falling away from the Church, society being less religious, and see (at least anecdotally) that many young people are drawn to traditional practices. They feel that traditionalism will reinvigorate many youths who can’t well see the difference between their faith and other faiths and are getting lost in a cultural syncretism.

You may disagree it’s the cure they think it is, but calling traditionalism diabolical.
