Is watching Naruto okay?

I’ve been getting into the anime series, Naruto, recently and the hand symbols are a prominent part of the show which from my 2-minute research apparently are from hindu or Buddhist meditation techniques. Also, there just seems to be a religious/supernatural influence on it with all the symbolism? If any of you guys have watched it, can you tell me if you think its “safe” as a Catholic to watch it? I watch because the plot is entertaining but I don’t believe in any of the things they do.

Your profile says you’re in high school, so if you’re a minor you should go over it with your parents (also as per CAF rules, to defer such matters of judgment to the appropriate legitimate authority). We also don’t know your personal situation, and things like this will vary from person to person.

The main possible issues I could see have, as mentioned, to do with the situation of the individual involved, which I am not qualified to comment on, and the circumstances, e.g. whether you are accessing it legitimately (like on Netflix or crunchyroll as opposed to some illegal site).

Do you need the Church’s approval for everything you watch? If you’re a minor, you need your parents consent.
