I am Italian-American and wear the Italian horn charm, my cousins and my uncle Lorenzo also wear it. Is it wrong?

Do you believe it has special powers or is it just to celebrate your heritage?

Then it’s just a piece of jewelry that has a specific meaning for you. It’s no different than a mother wearing a necklace of her children’s birth stones.

get a charm shaped like Italy , dump the horn. That is what I did . The horn and the hand( keeping off the Evil eye) are folk stuff.

Is it like a horn o plenty thing ? I thought those were just decorative symbols

I used to wear a Cross and the horn and was told by older Italians that they are opposite , don’t wear together. I just obeyed, being 100% B’klyn raised Italian, LOL. I got the Italy charm and wear with a Crucifix and St Benedict medal.

How about wearing a crucifix? Many years ago at a retreat the retreat master told us not to wear the Italian horn at all.
