Is Zechariah 12 about modern Israel/Jerusalem and the future conversion of the Jews?

When I read Zechariah I sometimes find that it’s prophecies match up very well with what’s going on today in the region of Palestine. But maybe it’s just confirmation bias. Thoughts?
