(continued from above)
  • The entire book of Psalms contains countless prophecies about Christ, including:
    – (Psalm 22) “They pierce my hands and feet … People stare and gloat over me. They divide my clothes among them and cast lots for my garment.”
    – (Psalm 16:10) “For You will not abandon my soul to Hades [death], nor allow Your Holy One to see corruption.”
    – (Psalm 116:13) “I will receive the cup of salvation” (Communion)
    – (Psalm 34:8) “Taste and see that the Lord is good” (Communion)
    – (Psalm 22:7-8) “All who see me mock me; they speak with their lips and shake their head, saying: “He hoped in the Lord, let Him rescue him;”
    – (Psalm 69:21) “They gave me vinegar for my drink”
    – (Psalm 2:7-8) “You are My Son; today I have begotten You. Ask Me, and I will make the nations Your inheritance, the ends of the earth Your possession.”
(Psalm 47:5) “God ascended with a shout” (Ascension)
  • The image of the blood-stained savior (whose blood - curiously - is always related to grapes):
    – (Isaiah 63:1-2) ‘Who is this coming from Edom, from Bozrah, with his garments stained crimson? Who is this, robed in splendor, striding forward in the greatness of his strength? “It is I, proclaiming victory, mighty to save.” Why are your garments red, like those of one treading the winepress?’
    – (Genesis 49:11) “He washed his garments in wine, and his clothes in the blood of grapes:”
Also, for what it’s worth:

Because it IS a prophecy about Jesus.

It has multiple layers. Both natural (about the kingdom and natural battles) and supernatural (about The King and supernatural battles - The King, the great “sign” of course is Jesus and the Blessed Virgin Mary is by the grace of God, intimately associated with this great “sign”).

And you affirm them both.
We should not affirm a natural aspect
and then deny a supernatural dimension.
