In The Book of Isaiah, Chapter 8 Verse 18 stated:
Look at me and the children whom the Lord has given me: we are signs and portents to Israel from the Lord of hosts who dwells on Mount Zion.

A footnote declared: Signs: Isaiah and his sons had symbolic names.
Please explain.

Isaiah’s elder son was Shear-Jashub, meaning “A remnant shall return” (Isaiah 7:3).

His younger son was Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz, meaning, “Despoil quickly, plunder speedily.” (Isaiah 8:3)

Father Pacwa’s EWTN series Old Testament Prophets has a lot of info on Isaiah. (And all the prophets. But there are tons of episodes just dealing with Isaiah.) It’s in EWTN’s audio library, and it’s also on YouTube (audio only).
