Isn't leaving people in state of doubt bad?

Why does God leave us in state of doubt?
Two separate questions.

My answer to the title question is: No, why would it objectively be so?

My answer to the post question is that God does not reveal all to us because it is His will that we not know everything. There are many reasons, most of which we probably don’t understand, but one reason is that God wants us to choose Him through faith, not through knowledge.
Well, my personal opinion is…
😃

God is INFINITE.

[we are finite and almost microscopic and seemingly stupid.]

So, there is no way we could comprehend what God is “up to”.

It’s like HE is a billion trillion trillion.

And we are merely one.

We exist in three dimensions or four, if you include time.

God exists in an infinite number of dimensions.

To me, there are degrees of doubt.

To me, there are also areas of knowledge where the degree of our personal doubt can vary.

FAITH is the willingness to accept things as being absolutely true while still having some degree of doubt - the inability to explain it, to prove it beyond reasonable doubt.

To me, no reasonable person can doubt that the man Jesus Christ lived and preached some 2,000 years ago and the Catholic Church is the Church He established. Yet, many educated people doubt that Jesus Christ is the Living Son of God and He is present body and blood in the Holy Eucharist. Many may argue whether the Catholic Church is as faithful to Christ’s teachings as it should be - they protest. They doubt.

I suggest that most doubt can be cleared by a full and careful reading the Bible. There are compelling arguments that say Jesus Christ IS the Living Son of God, that Christ established His Church, and that Christ is present in the Holy Eucharist and much more. We have many brilliant theologians over time that explain it all quite well. But we must read with an open mind while praying for better understanding.

FAITH is a gift from God. God gives it freely to those He chooses. If we want Faith, we ask sincerely and it will be granted. Each of us must do what we can to NURTURE the gift of Faith, to increase our Faith - reducing the doubt gap if you will.

Thomas doubted. Things worked our for him in the end. Doubt is a necessary ingredient of understanding. The healthy person recognizes his/her doubt and takes measures to resolve it. It more often than not leads to a higher understanding.

Why do you educate your children when they have doubt?

Did He give a reason why He wants you through faith rather than knowledge?

Being infinite has nothing to do with leaving us in state of doubt. In fact God could easier reveals Himself to us.

Do you leave or keep your children in state of doubt?

Yes, it worked for Thomas but it doesn’t work for many so they simply leave their faith.

Ive wondered about this too, when Thomas doubted, God ensured he knew in the end.

CAF and many other boards are full of people not understanding, doubting, or not getting the intended message God had, so that is a pretty big sign that this is a huge problem, if people such as Thomas doubted in those days, of course there are going to ten times that many in the world today that are in the same boat, one would think God would recognize this and take action.

I doubt that the state of doubt can ever be cleared 100% at least while we are here on earth and not yet in presence of God in Heaven. Hence, our need for FAITH to fill in where doubt remains. Some of us have a big hole to fill, some have bigger holes. Even St Thomas had a hole. I think his last words were something like “Straw. It is all straw.” Said in response to a vision from God. The point is, IMO, God gives each of us only so much knowledge and ability to understand Him. His Ways are far above man’s ways. Thus FAITH is necessary. If we truly LOVE God, we should want to know Him better, knowing we can not know Him perfectly here on earth. Sincere effort matters. FAITH MATTERS.

Anyway, IMO, it is one thing to let our personal doubts be an excuse for limiting our search for a better understanding and relationship with God. IN other areas of our life, we usually read experts when we want to know more. The best Expert is what Christ HImself said and did in the Gospels. Next best is the New Testament - the first responses to Christ. An important expert is the Catholic Church guided by the Holy Spirit (read John 14, 15, 16 & 17). If we do not want God, or want God ONLY on our personal terms, we run the risk of losing our own soul.

It is quite another situation, and again IMO, much more serious to use our personal doubt as an excuse to leave or keep OUR children in doubt. IMO, we have a most solemn duty to do the best we can to teach our children about God, encouraging them to accept Him and try to develop a proper relationship with God. How can we claim to LOVE our children and, at the same time, be a barrier to their opportunity to know God better leading to their eternity with God? Children trust parents to teach them the truth and encourage them to discover the Truth and use it in their own lives.

In the Lord’s Prayer we pray, “Thy Will be done on earth AS IT IS in Heaven.” Can any of us it is God’s Will that we leave or keep our children in doubt?

“one would think God would recognize this and take action.” I believe it is us that are to be taking action. The only way to move forward in my view is to study, learn, take action so to speak. In my view we already have the answers to our questions. Maybe doubt is a tool for us to use in accessing these answers? I don’t know for sure, but I do believe we are the ones to act.

You talk about relationship. Which type of relationship is this when God is always silent?

But when it was Thomas doubting, God took action and did things to make sure he believed.

Maybe we’re just not recognizing the actions God is taking. I’ve read that when we take one step toward God, God takes ten steps toward us. As we act God acts we simply aren’t seeing the actions because we are too distracted.
The same as when someone writes that God isn’t speaking. God is always speaking to us. We are not listening as we should be. We are too distracted. These are simply my views-hope they are helpful.

Why does God leave us in state of doubt?
Someone once said, “Integrity is to do the right thing even when no one’s looking”. So God “hides” Himself so to speak, even though we can’t even exist and live without Him. The Master’s gone away. What will He find us doing when He returns?

I don’t think it is God it is human nature. If you cannot see something does it indeed exist.

But it is faith and the Divine work of God through the Holy Spirit that helps us see. As Jesus said to Thomas you see and now believe. But blessed are those who believe but do not see.

So you are doing the things even without expectation for Heaven too?
