Isn't Mary much more than a saint?

I know we regard the Blessed Mother as a saint. And she is the mother of Christ. She is also called the Queen of Heaven. I also know Catholics were/ are accused of goddess worship. But isn’t She a whole lot more than a saint and why should we be afraid to acknowledge that we worship Her?

Hi,

A saint is a holy one who is in heaven. We revere Mary because the Father did by making her the mother of His Son—and also because she is holy and therefore is a saint. She was her Son’s most faithful follower. Her relationship with the Trinity is unique beyond all other creatures. She is a child of the Father, the mother of the Son and the spouse of the Holy Spirit. She IS special, alright. God has honored her more than any mere human can.

Worship is something that we can only direct to God. To worship God is to acknowledge Him to be who He is. We cannot worship Mary or anyone else because only God is God.
