Italian Candy at Church

Here it is - mass had finished.
About 12 of us - here and there - still in the church.
Lights are lowered -

Well a cute old lady with a large fur coat on - came up to two people in my isle.
She had special Italian chocolate candy - individually wrapped.
The man, my age, opened it up = ate it right there - " delicious "
His wife came over to me and gave me one.
I said thank you / put in in my leather coat pocket.

Was the guy wrong for eating the candy - so soon after receiving the Eucharist ?

He was no more wrong than the people who eat coffee and donuts right after Mass. There is a fast before receiving communion, not after.
