I am a Italian Catholic young man and this is my first topic created here. I’ld like to share with you some Italian Catholic songs (songs that are normally sung during the Mass), translating them to understand them better. And I’ld like if there were other people like me that could do this. I’ld begin with a very famous one (here): Tu sei la mia vita (You are my life) or Symbolum 77, written by don Pierangelo Sequeri in 1977.

In Your word, i will walk

I won’t be afraid, You know, if You are with me

You are my peace, my freedom
Niente nella vita ci separerà:
Nothing, in life, will separate us
so che la tua mano forte non mi lascerà.
I know Your strong hand won’t let me
So che da ogni male Tu mi libererai;
I know that from every evil You will free me
e nel tuo perdono vivrò.
And in Your forgiveness I will live
Padre della vita, noi crediamo in Te;
Father of life, we believe in You
Figlio salvatore, noi speriamo in Te;
Son saviour, we hope in You
Spirito d’amore, vieni in mezzo a noi:
Spirit of Love, come among us
Tu da mille strade ci raduni in unità.
You from 1000 streets put us in unity
E per mille strade poi dove Tu vorrai,
And for 1000 streets, then, where You will want
noi saremo il seme di Dio.
We will be the seed of God.
