8 weeks ago I was raped. A week or so later I had my heart broken by confirmation that the man I love has a girlfriend.
Since then I’ve applied for a promotion at work, for a job I could do in my sleep, and that man told me he still has feeling for me. So it felt slowly like my life was going to improve.

Anyways in the past week I’ve been diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder and currently facing a potentially long wait for CBT due to lack of therapists. Also the man I love has blocked my number because he was messaging me a lot and has decided he wants to focus on trying to make his relationship work. This has left me more heartbroken as now I feel like it’s totally over. And on top of that I haven’t even been shortlisted for an interview at work so no chance of promotion.
I’m trying to be positive but at the moment it’s basically impossible. I feel totally deserted and like life is hopeless.
I’m so sick of crying every day and can’t see any way how it will get better. I don’t want to lose my faith in God, but it’s so hard, I feel like my prayers are being ignored and I don’t know how much more of this I can cope with.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section of the forum, I’m still new here.

Just prayed for Our Lord to send you mega help urgently through all heavenly and human genuine helpers and your healing, and all other good things you need in these days.

Obviously you are going to be feeling terribly after what you have experienced. Did you think that you would be sunny and bright after all of that? If you feel like crying, cry. If you feel sad, accept it and make an act of faith and get on with your day. What you should be careful of, though, is despair, hopelessness, and losing your faith in our Lord. Think of St. Peter’s walk on water. As long as he focused on his Savior, he could make it. Once he focused on the storm around him, he began to sink.

You really do have to say, look, a lot of really bad stuff has happened to me, and I feel really, really lost and upset, but I will give to God all the faith I can, which maybe isn’t much more than a mustard seed right now.

Feelings are what they are, and often they really are justified. Bu t you have to just live with and in those feelings and realize that sometimes life is so hard to just live through. But understand that God’s love is more real than gravity and that your fidelity to Him and to the Church is the right thing no matter what kind of turmoil you feel inside.

Very good post here. I hope you take it to heart.
I also hope that you have met with your parish priest. He can find you someone to talk to for little or no $$$. The Diocese should have family services that will help you.
Keep close to the Lord in prayer. Go to Adoration and simply bask in His presence. Be at peace. Don’t allow disturbing thought race right now.
Don’t worry about this guy. Forget about him. Having a boyfriend will not heal the hurt you are feeling. It’s too much. Rely on friends, family, people that you know will be there for the long haul.
Pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet. It’s soothing and doesn’t take a very long time to get through. Give yourself to God daily…tell Him “Lord, I love you…dispose of me as You will”.
Things will get better. But not without relying on God.
I’ll pray for you. I know it’s bad right now. Give it more time.
:gopray:

Praying for you now–my heart goes out to you! God will bring you healing and make you stronger. Don’t listen to the dark whispers of the devil who would use this opportunity to drag you into despair and away from Christ. I have witnessed others who have gone through terrible tragedy, and staying near God is what pulled them through.

The emotional hurt may never fully disappear, but you will overcome this. Just start again one day at a time. :console:

Asking for the intervention of the Lady of Fatima. Don’t lose faith in God! I can tell you from experience that I had almost given up when my prayers were answered suddenly and in God’s time.

Forget this guy. Even if he were available, you’d be in no shape to have a real relationship with him right now.

This is probably the worst time of your life. From now on, every day can be just a little bit better. 2-4 years from now, if all goes well, you’ll be able to remember this with as much detachment it as if it had happened to another person. You’ll remember it, but will have maybe 10% of of the power to hurt you.

Keep busy, do your job, get through each day, and look for opportunities to help others.

Best wishes!

My daughter went through this many years ago. She refused counseling as she refused to see herself as a victim (she fought back and was instrumental in his arrest. She was his 4th victim). She did however volunteer at a Rape Crisis Center. That seemed to help her. But Time is critical in the healing process. Allow yourself time to heal. The guy and the promotion are just distractions for what you really need. Healing. When I’m feeling vulnerable I ask God to “Touch me. Heal me. Strengthen me.” He is the answer.

God Bless You.
