I know that feeling - I have felt that way:( for most of my adult life yet I’m never quite sure which is the greatest of my wrongs.
Why not think about the greatest of your gifts and work from there?

I am sure God blessed you with many great things you may be forgetting about while focusing on this.

i know that…most of the time lol, it’s just a very hard road sometimes, especially when you carry around a weight of guilt that none of your secular friends seem to even understand let alone have ever experienced 🙂

Take care, Bob.

Abria,

I agree with the above poster, of course Jesus loves you. He died for you and for all of us.

There may be some things we dont understand Abria, why things are the way they are or why some teachings seem too hard for us to ever measure up to.

If you are doing all you can do that is important. If you are truly unable to correct something Jesus will know that.

I have a nephew who has down syndrome and can become very violent lately. He is over 200lbs and taller than me. His mother, God love her is an atheist. Why am I telling you this? Well, she is always worried he might kill someone in a rage.

If he did kill someone, dont you think Jesus knows his condition and what he is capable of doing and not capable of doing?

I am saying that no matter how bad a thing is we think we are doing only God knows if we can do anything about it or not and why.

I am sure you have a better idea if your problem is something that you have control over or not. I have read about mental illness and all sorts of things that can make someone unable to correct behavior in some cases and I am sure there are lots of things that can effect this.

Thats why I take peace in knowing its going to be Jesus Christ who will end up looking into my heart and knowing the truth about me.

Of course, in my case I use the Catholic Church for my guide, but do you see what I am saying? Do not despair. Gods providence is beyond our comprehension.
edit in no way am I implying you have mental illness or D.S.

Just examples for my explaination… :o

lol I understand, Damascus 🙂

I think I do have ultimate contol over my actions, all of the time. I think what I struggle with is my attachment to this sin, I actually enjoy it (else I wouldn’t have done it) , even though I carry a weight of guilt about it, I can’t shake the truth that it is enjoyable to me…even when I sincerely regret having done it.

For now I am trying to concentrate on just not carrying out any further wrong actions at the moment… and concentrate on the other stuff after that’s sorted.

Take care, S x

I remind my teeangers often that sin can be addicting. Certain sin can often be packaged as a pleasurable sense, At times appears to offer a temporary relief. Yet you know it’s a danger when you find yourself saying, “I can’t believe I did that…”

Christ warned us of the father of lies. For good reason. Unfortunately the father of lies does not always appear as an ugly beast in THIS world. He’s stealthy. The devil can decieve many by being handsome, rich, successful, an enabler and a seducer of the worst kind. And he’s got thousands of years knowing the weaknesses in human nature. And he appears persistent and patient.

Without God’s grace I seriously doubt anyone could win this battle. But grace is available. So follow your conscience…

Just remember that if you should do this again (God forbid!), you need to get back up, ask for forgiveness, and resolve not to sin again. Whenever we fall, we have to get back up and keep trying. God will give us grace to do that, if we ask.

Also, remember that any “besetting sin” we have is usually the bad version of one of our great virtues. So what you need to do is get the virtue part going!

Stay strong, and be not afraid.

the opposite of my main sin would be to lve chaste… and i usually do… although I am not called to celibacy…

can someone be celibate when they are not called to be… do you think God can force them into this…and why would He do that to someone? It’s not a great choice to offer is it lol 🙂 go celibate else you commit ‘mortal’ (’’ used as I’m protestant so don’t really use this term lol) sin

Mentioned by Christ ¨Matthew 19:12 “For there are eunuchs, who were born so from their mother’s womb: and there are eunuchs, who were made so by men: and there are eunuchs, who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven. He that can take it, let him take it.” ¨Recommended by St. Paul ¨1 Corinthians 7:32-33 “He that is without a wife, is solicitous for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please God. But he that is with a wife, is solicitous for the things of the world, how he may please his wife: and he is divided.”

hi CRW,

I’ve thought about that before, thanks.

Take care of yourself, S 🙂

Well, maybe you’re not called to celibacy. Maybe you’re called to marry and love someone in a more God-ordered way than you’re currently doing. (That certainly wouldn’t be all that unusual.) Maybe you’re called to use your loving nature in some other way altogether.

Also, it seems to me that you are still young. If so, bear in mind that young people go through a lot of changes. What seems set in stone one month may have changed irrevocably the next. Don’t assume that what you think is sinful about your nature really is built in.

Our true natures are good gifts from God. Some people choose to use them for His glory; some choose to sacrifice them to Him and answer some other and greater call from Him. Neither way is wrong.

The trick is to find out what God wants from us, and how to do it – and a lot of times, He wants us to use our God-given brains and hearts to figure that out.

Of course, it’s also a good idea to bug the heck out of God until He tells you what He wants! Storm Heaven, or at least knock on the door a lot, like the widow bugging the unjust judge.

Well, who says you are required to carry the weight of the guilt?

That cross is not yours to carry. You are supposed to have a different cross to carry.

I think you should trade crosses.

Give the weight of your sin to Jesus. Then he’ll give you a different cross to carry for him.
