Recently, I have made the decision to convert to Catholicism. Previously, I didn’t belong to any particular branch of religion, but I’ve made it known to my parish priest that I want to be baptised in the faith, and I’m about to start my classes in the not-too-distant future.

People have questioned this change of lifestyle in me, but honestly, it feels like I’m coming home. I love every part of the Mass, I love participating, the people at my church have been fantastically welcoming, and it just feels right.

Perhaps people will pray for me, that everything goes smoothly in the time leading up to my baptism. 🙂

Welcome to the family of the Catholic Church.

Always pray for the grace to persevere. It is not uncommon for the devil to make one doubt once he realizes that one is coming closer to Christ.

That is an awesome blessing, venite angeli!
I pray that those at your parish continue to support you and guide you and you will have all the love and courage up to your baptism, after your baptism and until forever. 😉

Keep in mind that No road is considered to be smooth forever, it has potholes here and there, with the light of Jesus and the guiding of the Holy Spirit, you will be lead through any road that you need to pass through in your life.

Very good! My wife converted several years ago and she has also found a home here in the Catholic Church. Welcome friend!

Another thing I’d like to mention to you, venite_angeli, is to post a question asking how people dealing with different situations when they were about to come Home. I believe it will be very helpful to you.

God bless.

This is absolutely wonderful! This is exactly how I felt a few years ago when I came to the Church and that passion hasn’t let up at all. 🙂 So happy for you!

That’s wonderful – welcome home! I’d urge you to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy – it is a wonderful blessing. ❤️

WELCOME HOME!!!🙂 I happen to be a convert and believe me this IS God’s will! My advise to you is always stay close to God even in times of doubt always pray and study his word and you will always find the answers!

God bless you!:grouphug:

I have followed your advice and prayed the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. It was lovely 🙂 so thankyou.

On a side note, I have a tattoo on my shoulder of an angel, with Latin text underneath - caeli enarrant gloriam Dei, which means “the heavens declare the glory of God”. I was at my friend’s house for dinner last night, and they gifted me with my very first Bible - previously I had only owned the New Testament, so this is the first copy of the Old I have had which actually belonged to me.

Anyway, I opened it at random, and it fell open at the Book of Psalms - on Psalm 19, as it happens. And what is the first verse of Psalm 19, but “the heavens declare the glory of God, the skies proclaim the work of His hands”. Divine intervention?

whoa, who said God does not speak directly to men today. awesome
