My family rented a car and I forgot my sunglasses in its case inside the car. We brought it back on the 11th so it’s been four days. They are my prescription ones and so they are quite expensive, and I’ve been worrying to the point that its kept me up all night.

I know I probably shouldn’t even ask for everyone to pray for such a material object, seeing as there are others on the forum who have friends and family in troubled situation. When I compare that to my dilemma, it seems pretty silly. But I’m worrying because my parents had gotten me them after they saw I really liked them, and even though it was a bit out of our price limit.

I’m anxiously awaiting to call in a couple hours when the place opens, and if anyone out there feels my cause is worth praying to dear St. Anthony, then I ask you to please do so, giving my utmost appreciation and thanks.

Oh, and I’d like to introduce myself as I am new to this wonderful forum. My name is Nick, and I am a 17 (in a month) year old Roman Catholic. I am very interested in learning more and more about my faith and I try to be the best person I can for God. šŸ™‚ I look forward to becoming a part of this forum and getting to know all the wonderful people here. šŸ™‚

Thank you to everyone and God bless.

Welcome to CAF! I did say a prayer for you to dear St. Anthony. He has helped me out a few times! ( I am still waiting for him to locate my gold necklace with Crucifix and a Pope John Paul II medallion! )

Enjoy the CAF. I have been here a few years and it has really helped me learn a lot.

Thank you for your spiritual support and I’ve made a note to pray to St. Anthony for your necklace as well. šŸ™‚

Fingers crossed St. Anthony can bless us and help us both. God bless.

Welcome to CAF :tiphat:

I have lost my prescription sunglasses before, so I feel your pain

I’ll pray that you are swiftly reunited with them šŸ™‚

Thank you Kamaan, and I’m sorry for your loss. 😦

I will call them first thing tomorrow morning and I’m praying I find them. I can’t afford another pair and I need them to drive so it leaves me in a bit of a predicament.

Hi and welcome ItalianRacer!!
We with Italian things in our names hafta stick together. So, yes I will say prayers that you get your glasses back. I will say prayers to Our Lady since this is Her Day. Take care and let us know how this ends!

Thank you for the warm wishes, and Italians stick with one another ! 😃

Hope the Lord is with me and I will update everyone ASAP probably sometime tomorrow morning.

God Bless.

It drives me crazy when people complain about praying at football games and for ā€œsillyā€ things like lost items or to pass an exam. The skeptics always say things like ā€œthere’s famine and war and disease in the world so why would ā€œgodā€ care about your stupid history test?ā€

OUR Father is concerned and attentive to every part of our lives! He is able and sufficient to handle ALL of our needs and worries. He is big enough and cares enough to handle everything and anything! So, if you have any need, anything that concerns you, then why wouldn’t you ask your Papa for His help? He feeds the sparrows and clothes the flowers in fine colors - and you are worth more than many sparrows!

I too have expensive prescription sunglasses and I pray you find them in good shape and soon.

Thanks for your warm wishes. I don’t doubt God the Father loves and cares for all of us, it’s just that personally I feel kind of silly asking for sunglasses when another is asking for their relative or friend to be cured of cancer. But I hold great regard in the Lord and hope that He will help me.

God bless.

Nick I can understand why you’re anxious, especially considering that the sunglasses are prescription and expensive, and at your age, probable purchased by your parents so you won’t wish to put them to extra expense. I ask your Angel to help you find the glasses.
God bless you in this, and in all aspects of life, including your faith.

ā€œThis…is what I pray before the Father from whom every family, whether spiritual or natural, takes its name: Out of His infinite glory, may He give you the power through His Spirit for your hidden self to grow strong, so that Christ may live in your hearts through faith, and then, planted in love and built on love, you will with all the saints have strength to grasp the breadth and the length, the height and the depth; until, knowing the love of Christ, which is beyond all knowledge, you are filled with the utter fullness of God.ā€
ā€œGlory be to Him whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine; glory be to Him from generation to generation in the Church and in Christ Jesus for ever and ever. Amen.ā€

You’ve hit the nail on the head and I thank you for your warm wishes. I too hope my angel can help me out in this anxious time of need.

God bless.

I hope you find your rx sunglasses. If they haven’t found them right off the bat, please ask
to let them let you look yourself. So many times the glasses can slip between the
cushions or beside the bucket seat where they are not readily seen. I have found glasses
in a new-to-us car. Turns out they were very expensive and the owner had lost them a
few months before he sold the car. He had not replaced them so he was happy to see them.
Will also pray for St. Anthony!

Thank you very much for your support. I will definitely have a word with them should they not find them because they are very important to me as you can imagine. That is great that you returned the glasses to the seller and I just hope someone as kind as you discovered my glasses and put them away. So far my luck is looking good as I have called the head office twice today with different people and they suggested there is a good chance, but I don’t want to take that for granted.

You and I both will be praying to St. Anthony along with all of the other wonderful individuals who have said they will pray for me. God bless.

Hi Everyone,

I contacted the rental company several times today and the car has been rented out, with the sunglasses still in them. They have left a message to the new renter and I just hope that person has a good enough soul to be able to turn them in. The rental place even offered to go pick them up for me, so I was very glad I spoke with some good people at the company.

I pray that God has affected that person’s soul to do the right thing and return them. Thank you to all who prayed for me and I would really appreciate it if you continue to. šŸ™‚

By the way, I prayed to God for all of your troubles, fears and mishaps so let’s hope God has done us both a good deed ! (I know he will. ;))

Dear ItalianRacer
Thank you for praying for my lost necklace, too. It is quite valuable but the loss is more than economic. The necklace has great spiritual value to me.

Anyway - I hope you get your glasses back in the next day or two. My eyeglasses are very expensive, too. I know what a hardship it can be to have them damaged or missing.

I have sent out another plea to St. Anthiny for us both!

I think of it this way: when my daughter would ask me simple questions or favors - like how to tie her shoes or how to handle a girl who bullied her in 2nd grade or how to check the oil in her car - I felt good that she thought of me as one who would be there for anything. I loved to be her papa!

And so when she had more serious problems later on, she knew she could trust me to be there for her. And I was glad that it was me that she thought of in her times of trouble - big and small.

I believe that our Father is intensely and compassionately interested in every aspect of our lives and nothing is ā€œsmallā€ to Him. I think any time we talk to God with hope in our hearts and trust in Him that it is never silly. I completely understand what you are saying…it’s just that other people have counseled me over the years and I’ve come to understand prayer and petitions in a new light.

Who knows? Maybe the lost sunglasses will lead to some greater understanding or experience in faith! There are no coincidences to God’s children! I hope I’m not making this more complicated by how I’m trying to explain how I feel. It’s just that nobody should be timid or hesitant to ask Papa for His help in anything. Not everyone has been laid upon with deep problems lately. And we all know what it’s like to need money to fix our car or find lost prescription sunglasses or to pass a test or do well in a job interview.

We **have not **because we ask not.

No trouble at all. I hope you are reunited with the symbol of your faith in the near future !

I completely understand what you are saying and I appreciate the time you took to explain it to me. That explanation made complete sense to me and I feel less silly for praying for them because your answer gave me the reason and logic to understand. I see the light of God more clearly because of you and for that I thank you.

God bless and I hope your prayer intentions are fulfilled like mine hopefully will be. šŸ™‚

Thank you for your kind words. It is a bit of a sore spot for me when secular folks mock Christians for asking God for ā€œtrivialā€ things. I had to get that out. Thanks for listening!
