I am totally in accordance with the Churches teaching on Invitro Fertilization. But, I do have a question:
If a woman undergoes IVF, then later has a conversion, or comes to a fuller understanding of the Churches teaching, what are her obligations to her frozen babies (embryos).
I recently found out, somewhat unwittingly, that a couple in my parish used IVF, and had triplets. These triplets are now about 7 years old, and they decided to have IVF again, because they had extra embryos, and they now have twins. I do not know if they decided to do the second IVF after realizing that their frozen embryos were truly human, or if there was no connection, but this is what spurred my question.
