At the time 2Tim was written there was no New Testament so is White arguing that the Old Testament is all the Christian needs?

Paul was even more explicit. Skip back a couple verses and you will see that Paul was using the term scripture to refer to the scriptures Timothy new from childhood. Paul was referring to the Old Testament. When reading the whole passage, Paul was saying nothing about sola scriptura.

At the risk of repeating what has been said, look at the whole passage:

14But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it,
(Timothy learned of his faith in Christ for Paul, not from scripture)
15and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
(The scriptures Timothy had in his childhood were the Old Testament, which prepared him for Christ. But remember, it was Paul that taught Timothy what he had learned.).
16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Paul is essentially saying, “don’t throw away the Old Testament. It is still valuable to learn from.” Paul can’t be preaching sola scriptura as it would contradict how Timothy was taught by Paul.

5. 2 PETER 3:16-17 – WITHOUT THE CHURCH TO INTERPRET SCRIPTURE PROPERLY WE MAY DISTORT IT TO “OUR OWN DESTRUCTION” BECAUSE CERTAIN PARTS ARE DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND:

have you ever stopped and thought about how tough of a command that was? Do you really think anyone could successfully “feed” ALL His sheep without the gift of infallibility [recall the Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven]?

Only one Church has been be unified throughout the ages and has kept the SACRED TRADITIONS OF THE APOSTLES 2 Thess. 2:14-15]. The Catholic Church is the only Church that has survived with continuity since Apostolic and Biblical times.

Brothers and sisters, these are some points to consider to refute Sola Scriptura… You will never change a Catholics mind unless the very strong scriptural evidence for the Church, like some of the above passages, can be addressed.
