Jehovah's Witness Cult Makes New Prediction

Thanks for the clarification, Ravyn. BibleSteve also sent me a PM with a detailed description of the beliefs about this issue. I’ve learned something today, and if I hear that idiom again, I’m in a better position to refute it. Not like I’m becoming a JW but I think we should be fair to others in their beliefs.
Did Steve happen to mention that JWs do not believe there will be marriage in the resurrection? That families will be ‘reunited’ but in an incomplete way? So basically the remark about ‘less hope than a dead JW’ is pretty accurate.

I was brainwashed into having my tubes tied because JWs do not encourage having children but encourage making ‘sacrifices for the Kingdom’ by engaging full time in the preaching work they do and put off having children until ‘the New World’.

Only problem is that part of the reason was my bad health—a JW man who was romantically interested in me at the time wanted me to stay a pioneer and not have children and have to quit pioneering–it is a status symbol for a JW man to have a pioneering wife, especially a man who is a Ministerial Servant or Elder—because my bad health was also life-threatening and it would be one or the other for me but not both. And pregnancy was dangerous for me, especially with no blood transfusions allowed.

So I lived with the terror that if I died and had to be resurrected I would never for all eternity have children, or a husband. I can not imagine a worse fate than to be alive forever–alone. Truly JWs have no hope. I have seen literally hundreds of women agonize with the same bleak prospect, (depression and mental illness is 4 times higher among JWs than other groups according to one Australian study some years ago.) I have known 2 suicides even.

It is easier now that I am 45 without children, but there will always be that regret. I raised 2 foster children, and I have two nephews and a niece. This is not something I will ever be able to completely forgive and forget.

And incidentally, that JW man disappeared and never called or explained why shortly after I had the surgery. I am happily married now to a man who was never a JW.

One way to get a JW to re-think his position is to ask the JW if God rejected the Jews. The JW will reply “yes” emphatically. Then ask him to explain Romans 11 where St. Paul says otherwise. Also ask how many saviours there are, they will say “one” . Then ask the JW to explain the beginning of the book of Revelation where God is the Saviour and Jesus is the Saviour. They will have to admit that either Jesus IS God or that there are two Saviours.

Dear Rayyn,

Eventhough you do not have children from yourself, but in Christ you have already had. I am sure, and pray for you that you will find Joy through your children. You will not be alone. If you see only a set of trace during your problem, remember that it comes from the feets of Jesus, who is holding you in His arms.
