We didn’t, really. The topic expanded to where the best place to get information about any belief system is.

In 1925 the Bible students (later called Jehovah’s Witnesses) had a talk given called “Millions now living will never die.” There was a tract printed by the same name about then. They were convinced, (as they still are) that the last days of this system had begun and would not last many years more. Those who survive into God’s new world may never die.cftf.com/1914/index.html
The above link shows a photograph of the original booklet that Watchtower Distributed on the issue.
I take your point but it is weak. The WTBS has predicted the definite end many times in their Awake and WatchTower magazines. Each time the end failed to occur and some lame excuse was given. What about the JWs who gave up everything and sold all theirIn 1925 the Bible students (later called Jehovah’s Witnesses) had a talk given called “Millions now living will never die.” There was a tract printed by the same name about then. Obviously this system has staggered on far longer than those in 1925 thought it would.
Much like the early Christians in Acts 1:6 who thought the Kingdom was about to be set up then, they had incorrect expectations. Jesus kindly reminded theose in 33AD it wasn’t their business to know the dates or times, but should just focus on preaching the truth about him. (Acts 1:7,8)
The JW’s have done just that, and swelled from a few thousand in 1925 to over 7 million active in that preaching work worldwide today.

I will have to check that out… Thank you JaviI’ve been witnessing to JW’s for about 40 years. I’ve tried proving the trinity, existence of the soul, etc. but the answer I usually get is that I am wrong and that only the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society has the whole truth. Our Bibles are abominations and are incorrectly translated. All “so-called Christian religions” are money-grubing and
God dishonoring organizations and we all work for the devil. It is hard to break through a
brainwashed JW. I just hope and pray that I got through to some of them. If you want a
good explanation of their beliefs, doctrines, etc. I recommend “Kingdom of The Cults”
By Dr. Walter Martin. It’s a pretty thoroughly rearched subject.

may i please have a copy … i would love to read thatGood recommmendation. I have read it and it’s another book on the list. Without trying to blow my own horn ( I’m trying to be humble ), I have written a paper answering the Jehovahs Witnesses on the Holy Trinity. I will email a copy to whomever asks, including
Jehovahs Witnesses. God Bless.

Wow! Then you have seen a lot sir. I didn’t realise I was talking to someone with such experience. (I am only 30.)I take your point but it is weak. …
With a track record like that, plus its history which many JWs know nothing about, its truly amazing how so many are duped into becoming JWs. I know I never could, even after
studying with them for quite a while.
P.S. The booklet and talk was by “Judge” Rutherford. I had heard his talk originally on
record in 1939. I didn’t believe it then, and I don’t believe it now. ( I am 84 ).

Yes. I have seen a lot and have been through a lot in my lifetime. As for JWs, yes, many,Wow! Then you have seen a lot sir. I didn’t realise I was talking to someone with such experience. (I am only 30.)
There would have been less than quarter of a million JW’s in 1939. 7 million now.
And you must have been called on by the JW’s hundreds of times. Surely you admit they are not a bad crew on average. (despite their delusions). All trying to understand and live by the Bible.
Why do you think so many people from all religions and races join them, despite their imperfections and blunders?
And what is your opinion on how the world scene has changed since 1939? I would be fascinated to hear.
