Great story. I will mention it to the JW’s the next time they come to my door. Give 'em something to think about.

Hi.

Jeffrey, your story is interesting to me in that I “lost” (and I mean lost!) my sister (cradle Catholic) to the Jehovah’s Witnesses over three years ago. I have had no contact with her whatsoever 😦 . She believes we (her family) are all evil. I send her articles in the mail anonymously–but I’m sure she knows they are from me, and I"m also sure she doesn’t read them…and I’m sure she’s not allowed to read them, right?

She was having marital problems when she joined the Jehovah’s Witnesses…but I think her marital problems came because she was studying with the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Anyway, things went from bad to worse…and she definitely is not bearing good fruit. One good thing that has come out of all of this is that trying to find answers for her has really strengthened my faith.

How do you shake these people out of it?

Sister, I am so sorry to hear that. I lost my brother to Islam. I know exactly what you are going through 😦

You no longer see your brother at all?
Sister, no. He is still in contact with several members of my family. The last time I saw him was 2 years ago at a relative’s house. He stayed on one side of the room and I was on the other.

Many people in my family simply try to cope. When he starts spouting Islamic propaganda and such, they just shrug it off and offer him something to eat, hoping it will change the subject.

That just “changing the subject” is a bad thing to do…I’ve learned that from experiece. I use to just change the subject, too, so we wouldn’t argue…thinking she would soon use her “reason”. But she didn’t. Now she’s too deep.

And rejection of Jesus Christ is a life or death matter. May God have mercy on them both…your brother and my sister.
