Someone’s trying to chastize Christians for supporting slavery, supposedly as Christ did (yeah right).

This person uses the story of Jesus and the roman centurian (Luke). She’s trying to fight the fact that Jesus didn’t rebuke this man for having a slave. Puh leez

My answer would be to her to read the culture of that day.
But I want a better equipped answer.

the culture of the day is the answer. Back then slavery was not permanent like southern slavery in our countries history. In ancient times slavery was a way to repay a debt you owed to someone, then when it was payed you were free. Theres nothing wrong with this, if you someone somthing you should pay it, and if you cant repay the debt, serve them for fair amount of time.
