Jesus and the Discovery Channel

I am appalled at what I just saw on the discovery channel.
There was a priest from Notre Dame University, that said he wished it could be proven that Jesus was married and had children, because that would dispell the rampant fear of sex.

I guess what makes me the maddest is that it came from a priest. I know these secular channels get off on trying to show christianity in a bad light, but this is insane.

Why do people try to insinuate that God is some sex crazed lunatic, who cannot control His own passions? :mad:
 
I feel sorry for Our Lady. Her school is full of heretics. :mad: I mean… no I think I meant what I said.
 
Every Christmas and Easter they drag these shows out on the Discovery and History Channels, purporting to show the “real” Jesus.
It seems that they have an agenda to try and discredit Christianity. No other religion is subjected to this treatment. And the trouble is, we Christians just sit back and take it.
 
Discovery, Learning Channel, and History have all sunk from what they started out to be. I guess there is more money to be made pandering to sensationalist versions of history than to reporting on the plain facts. This is why I no longer watch these channels.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it was Father Richard McBrien. He’s a dissident “theologian” there.

Well, after all, Padre Pio said the guy who invented the TV went to hell. Avoid it.

Perhaps those programs,are influenced with the Da Vinci code,that’s why the people on those shows doubt about our Lord.:banghead:

Me neither, for the most part. Especially anything supposedly “teaching” about Christianity and Jesus. If I want to learn something about those topics, I won’t trust anything on TV but EWTN 🙂

The other day I :eek: watched a little bit of Oprah :eek:. She was talking about child predators and how she’s giving away $100,000 to people who can help locate them. She said something in a very dramatic voice to the effect of “The reason…I’m doing this… is to…” and I couldn’t help finishing her sentence with “INCREASE MY RATINGS!!!” That’s what it’s all about! Extreme makeovers, sensational Dr. Phil topics, all of it. They’re not really interested in helping people, they’re trying to get a leg up on their competition. :nope: For the most part, anyway!
