If all of his DNA came from Mary, Jesus would be a twin/clone of Mary. He must have gotten an X chromosome from somewhere. I don’t see why half of the genetic code could not have been created ex nihilo by God.
All of his DNA came from Mary. He took his whole human nature from her, that is the teaching of the Church. This was within Mary’s body, He could have rearranged the DNA of one of her cells and inserted it into an egg
But that doesn’t mean he would be a clone. God could rearrange the DNA, even create a **Y **chromosome by rearranging base pairs.
Half of the DNA was probably ALREADY in an egg. The other half he could have taken from any cell and rearranged the base pairs how he needed.
This issue is really not a difficulty for the faith.
