Last night, I was at K-Mart, and I came across a book called Jesus Freaks. The early biographies were fine. There was Perpetua and Felicty, Polycarp, the Apostles. All stuff I could get from a Lives of the Saints book. The modern stories were fine, as well. Mother Theresa, some 8 year old Filipino boy. Stuff you probably wouldn’t find in a Saints book.
It’s the stuff in the middle I found objectionable. John Huss was persecuted because he believed we should have a personal relationship with Jesus. John Tyndale, etc. Of course people like Ralph Milner weren’t mentioned.
So does anyone know of a similar book that is more “Catholic Friendly?”
