Did Jesus have free will and could he have walked away from the God’s predestined plan that he be crucified? When he was in the garden and asked God to take the cup away from him if it was God’s will, does that prove that Jesus did not have free will. If he did, why didn’t he just say “forget it God, it’s too hard I’m not going through with it, no matter your will.” He could have fled and possibly avoided arrest. But would God’s predestined plan evenutally trump Jesus’ free will and he would have been crucified eventually?
People keep saying humans have free will. Well Jesus was human and thus he must have had free will as well. In addition, if God’s predestined plan for Jesus would have trumped Jesus’ free will eventually, doesn’t that happen in our own lives as well?
