Jesus in the garden

i have a question that i cannot answer for my husband. how is it that it was recorded about Jesus in the garden and everything that went on when everyone was asleep? and also when Jesus was on the shore and everyone was in the boat. how do they know what Jesus said? thanks

I think that the answer is that the apostles were not asleep the entire time that he was praying. Remember that Jesus kept waking them up. They probably heard him praying and then drifted back off to sleep.
