Dear Brothers and Sisters,

St. Louis de Montfort continues to us encourage us:
  1. I feel more than ever inspired to believe and expect the complete fulfilment of the desire that is deeply engraved on my heart and what I have prayed to God for over many years, namely, that in the near or distant future the Blessed Virgin will have more children, servants and slaves of love than ever before, and that through them Jesus, my dear Lord, will reign more than ever in the hearts of men.
  2. I clearly foresee that raging beasts will come in fury to tear to pieces with their diabolical teeth this little book and the one the Holy Spirit made use of to write it, or they will cause it at least to lie hidden in the darkness and silence of a chest and so prevent it from seeing the light of day. They will even attack and persecute those who read it and put into practice what it contains. But no matter! So much the better! It even gives me encouragement to hope for great success at the prospect of a mighty legion of brave and valiant soldiers of Jesus and Mary, both men and women, who will fight the devil, the world, and corrupt nature in the perilous times that are sure to come.
"Let the reader understand. Let him accept this teaching who can."
These prophetic words came true. The little treatise on “True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin” was hidden away in a chest during the French Revolution. It was discovered in 1842 and published for the first time in 1843.

The evil one seeks to destroy the Church but the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Today we see much confusion in the Church, yet we can remain in Jesus Who is our Way, our Truth, and our Life, even as Mary remained at the foot of Jesus’ Cross on Calvary – despite the terrible confusion of the crowd around her. She stood steadfast in her Supernatural Faith, Hope and above all Her Love for God and for all others because of her love for Him,

Jesus gave Mary to us from His Cross to be for us both Mother and Model. Many still do not know her as Mother and Model – non Catholics as well as some even among Catholics. Yet, we have this little treatise by St. Louis de Montfort in our day, hundreds of years after it was written, available to us by God’s Providence, that like Our Mother and all the saints we might learn to be like Mary as she followed Jesus in Faith, Hope and abor all Charity.

St. Louis was inspired to believe and expect that …
“…the Blessed Virgin will have more children, servants and slaves of love than ever before, and that through them Jesus, my dear Lord, will reign more than ever in the hearts of men.
…and so must we, believe, and hope and lovingly pray, “Come, Lord Jesus, reign in us, through Mary”

Thank you, MariaChristi. We can learn more and more, through depending on our Blessed Mother, that Christ’s power is perfected in weakness, and that God’s grace is sufficient for us.

Here again is St. Bonaventure:
Give praise to the Lord, for He is good: give praise to His Mother, for her mercy endureth
forever.
The love of her driveth out sin from the heart: and her grace purifieth the conscience of the
sinner.
The way to come to Christ is to approach her: he who shall fly her shall not find the way of
Peace.
Let him who is hardened in sins, often call upon her: and light shall arise in his darkness.
He who is sad in his heart, let him cry out to her: and he will be inebriated with a sweetflowing dew.
Glory be to the Father, etc.

Dear patricius,

Thanks for your “heart” and for your reply, giving us another beautiful quote from St. Bonaventure, who like St. Louis de Montfort and all the Saints, encourage us to depend on Mary to help grow closer to Christ. Even hardened sinners can call upon her and soon they will see the Light of Christ coming into their hearts. What a gift Mary is!

Dear Stephie,

Thanks for your "heart,’ which lets us know you appreciated what St. Louis wrote. It is a blessing to hear from those who find themselves growing closer to Jesus through Mary in their hearts! 🙂
